So about a month ago Shooter got really sick. She hurt her back some how which is very common in long backed dogs. So I noticed she wouldn't jump of the couch or go down the stairs and she didn't want up or down the stairs. She is one of my children so I took her to the vet and they said she had a slipped disc. So they gave her some pain medicine and anti inflammatory medicine and said to keep her inactive. If the medicine didn't work we were going to have to do surgery which is like $3,000.00. I love her very much but I don't have that kind of money so we prayed and gave her the medicine and she would have a couple of good days and then she would have a bad day. And when I say a bad day I mean the poor girl couldn't move and would just cry at the top of her lungs. So after about 10 days we decided it she wasn't getting any better and we hated to see her in so much pain so I scheduled to have her put down. That was not an easy decision to make she is part of the family but I hated to see her suffer. So an hour after I made the appointment the vet called and said no lets try some different pain and muscle relaxers. Why we didn't we try those in the first place I am not sure. Anyway we took her in and she was having a bad moment crying so the vet gave her a shot of morphine. Let me tell you that made all the difference in the world. It made her relax and sleep for about a day and half. She is getting much better. She is on minimal activity still but I can deal with that. I love my Shooter and I am so glad that I get to keep her around longer. With out her I don't know what I would do. She looks out for the boys and helps keep my floor clean. I love her.

I hope she makes a full recovery. It is so hard to loose such a sweet member of your family.
Hey old neighbor! I miss ya! Your boys are sooo cute. I'm glad you guys are doing well. And I'm very glad to hear Shooter is going to stick around! Whew! Poor thing.
