Just being a Mom
Being a mom is such a blessing. I love being able to wake up every morning to this little person that depends on me for so much. I love the people that think that a stay at home mom is an easy job. And to those people that think that I say try reasoning or even understanding a one year old, and then try doing it everyday. It can be wearing at time and also rewarding. Some days I wonder what was I thinking wanting my kids this close together!!
Shayd shocks me everyday. Today was the first day that he made a horse noise and yesterday he said flower (although he won't say it again). Shayd a week ago could play in his room all by himself why I did my own thing but not this week. I have to be in his room or wherever he wants to play, and if I am not he is grabbing my hand and dragging me in there. I am hoping the clinging to me will end soon. This weekend he didn't even want Keith just mom. I hope he gets over that a little before the baby arrives. I don't know how some of you do it with and keep sane with more than one kid. I could use some secrets!!
Funny story Sunday we were playing with Shayd's building blocks and I laid back on my back and Shayd came over and wanted to give my belly (his brother) a kiss so he pulled up my shirt and gave me a kiss that resulted in a raspberry on the belly. He thought that was the neatest thing. My belly ended up slobbery, and I am sure the baby didn't know what was going on but I loved it.
Silly blog I know but I think that sometimes I take for granted the privilege I have of staying home and that I don't have to work. I am very thankful for Keith's hard work that allows me to stay home and witness all Shayd's first, thirds and all the fits. Home is where the mom should be.

Disneyland trip
Grandma/pa Crossley this year for Christmas took all 40 members of the family to Disneyland. We went on a charter bus, left Sunday night at 6 pm and headed home Friday at 2. It was an adventure. I don't know if I recommend riding on a charter bus for 15 hours when you are 6 months pregnant, but it was well worth it. Keith being the sweet guy that he is let me have two seats to myself to try to get comfortable enough to sleep. On the way there I had little success but by the time we headed home I was so exhausted that I had no problem sleeping. Shayd loved the rides, didn't care much for Mickey and the gang (they scared him). Keith has promised me a trip to Lagoon this summer so that I can go on some adult rides, although I did get to ride on more rides than I expected to. Shayd didn't make many facial expressions on the rides but you could tell how much he liked the rides by the fit he made to stay on. I took him on the carosel 5 times in a row and then he didn't seem to mind getting off.
Some of the older kids had never seen the ocean so the last day we were there we went to Newport Beach. It was freezing but the crazy kids from Idaho didn't seem to mind playing in the water. It was an amazing trip. Thanks Grandma/pa!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christmas morning was great we woke up and it is amazing how Shayd knows exactly what to do. He went running out to the tree to begin opening presents!! Santa brought him a plastic pistol and he was done. He didn't feel the need to open anymore presents. I can't believe all we put ourselves through for 30 minutes of fun. We had breakfast at home and then went to Council for dinner. We had to get through a foot and half of fresh snow on the road to get to Grandpa/ma's but we made it. Shayd played out in the snow with his cousins. We had a wonderful time with the family playing games. We hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season.
