Just being a Mom

Being a mom is such a blessing. I love being able to wake up every morning to this little person that depends on me for so much. I love the people that think that a stay at home mom is an easy job. And to those people that think that I say try reasoning or even understanding a one year old, and then try doing it everyday. It can be wearing at time and also rewarding. Some days I wonder what was I thinking wanting my kids this close together!! Shayd shocks me everyday. Today was the first day that he made a horse noise and yesterday he said flower (although he won't say it again). Shayd a week ago could play in his room all by himself why I did my own thing but not this week. I have to be in his room or wherever he wants to play, and if I am not he is grabbing my hand and dragging me in there. I am hoping the clinging to me will end soon. This weekend he didn't even want Keith just mom. I hope he gets over that a little before the baby arrives. I don't know how some of you do it with and keep sane with more than one kid. I could use some secrets!! Funny story Sunday we were playing with Shayd's building blocks and I laid back on my back and Shayd came over and wanted to give my belly (his brother) a kiss so he pulled up my shirt and gave me a kiss that resulted in a raspberry on the belly. He thought that was the neatest thing. My belly ended up slobbery, and I am sure the baby didn't know what was going on but I loved it. Silly blog I know but I think that sometimes I take for granted the privilege I have of staying home and that I don't have to work. I am very thankful for Keith's hard work that allows me to stay home and witness all Shayd's first, thirds and all the fits. Home is where the mom should be.

I agree 100% It is a hard job but I think it is the most rewarding.

Way to go mom!! I loved your raspberry story and don't worry about the clingy thing it may or may not get better but just make sure that once the new one gets here you keep him involved with the baby. have him be your little gofer for things life diapers and wipes. If you read to him while you feed the baby it will also keep him a little better contained. Fun times!

It is amazing how many people think this is easy, and that it doesn't need to be done by the Mom! Our children are some of the blessed few. There are times I miss school or work, but not even close to how much I would miss my little guy. Thanks!

Amen!! It's especially good to remember how blessed we are to stay at home on those not so easy days. I don't know how moms with more than one kid do it either... :)
