We Have A Jumper

Well, last week Shayd was very sick and he got to sleep with dear old mom a lot or rocked through the night by dad. Well, Monday night I decided he was well enough to spend the whole night in his bed. Fair enough 18 months he normally sleeps in his own bed but he didn't feel good and he got a little spoiled. So the plan started off fine went to bed no problem but then he woke up at 11:30 I went in told him he was fine and that it wasn't time to get and went back to bed. He cried for about 30 minutes and I thought well, I'll go check on him again and about that time I heard a thud. I ran down the hall and flipped on the hall light and about the time the light came on his door was opening and there went Shayd and his blanket racing for mom and dads bed. Well, I was startled, stunned I didn't know really what to think. We had lowered the mattress as low as it will go, I honestly didn't think he would be able to get out of his crib if he tried. I was shocked so the spoiled little boy got to sleep with me.
Well, last night I was going to turn his crib around so the back was out. Well we were out late and when we got home I figured he won't do it twice right, wrong. He woke up at 2 and I went in told him I loved him and to go back to bed. I decided I wouldn't let him cry so long before I checked on him. Well, it only took him four minutes and he was on the floor and running to my bed with his blanket in tow. He was so darn cute with his blanket flung over his shoulder running as fast as he could to my bed. There was Shayd, Shooter(my little weiner dog), and about 5 pillows in my bed(to make me comfortable) and myself in my bed. It was a long night. The crib is already turned around so hopefully that will keep him contained. I just worry about him getting hurt while spreeing from captivity. It is a pretty good drop but he seems to be just fine this morning. Just a little moody from lack of sleep.

Ok, you have to make a decision because he probably wont give up. Our Natalie did the same thing and no matter how many times she hit the floor, she did it again the next night and she was 15 months old. So your choices are toddler bed, or crib tent (yes they make them). We went with the toddler bed and a child door lock (I know it sounds bad) I wish we would have gone with the tent but I wasn't pregnant yet. Good luck

Wow. My daughter did the same thing to. We decided to g with the toddler bed for her. We have my son in a toddler bed to, but we put a gate on his door to keep him in there so he won't keep coming out i know it sounds bad, but he falls asleep and we don't have a problem really with him going to bed.

Oh that cracked me up. I shouldn't laugh as Ashyln will probably try it tonight, but that picture of Shayd you put with the blog, made the story perfect. Kids. . . . always keeping you on your toes.
