Shayd's Sunday Bag

So now that Shayd is a Sunbeam he gets a sticker every Sunday he brings his Book of Mormon.  And he is very good about taking them and wants to take them but it seems like I always end up with them in my bag.  So being the cool mom that I am I copied some other cool moms in my ward and decided to make him a little scripture bag.  Nothing fancy because I don't a lot of sewing skill so if you were to look at the seams they are not straight and I made it up as I went but I was pretty proud of myself.  Well I got it all complete except for the strap, so I sewed one side on and then had him come so I could measure where to sew the other end on.  Well, he really wanted it to be "just like a rope."  I told him we don't take ropes to church and that I was making him a bag for his scriptures.  I finished felt pretty proud of myself for this nifty thing I made.  I showed it to Shayd and he threw it down, cried for about 5 minutes and told me that he didn't want it like that, that he wanted it like a rope.  I said I was sorry but this is how it was.  I then proceeded to ignore his cries.  His cries stopped and he walked up to me holding his bag that he had CUT the handle so it was like a rope.  I felt really loved and appreciated!!!  He loves it now with his improvement!!!  I just remind myself that I love my 3 year old!!!
