ScareCrows, Pumpkins and Harvest Count

So this year we decided to make a scarecrow!! I don't know anyone that is actually going to see it we live 12 miles from town. But the boys thought that it was fun. Shayd had to put a beard on it because it needed to look like Dad!! We picked pumpkins out of our pumpkin patch!! Next year we hope we can grow some big enough to carve. We didn't have very good luck. We also splurged on carving supplies a whole $2.99 for a carving kit. We made a cat, witch, scary house and a spider. Joelie was here and helped us carve. They loved everything about carving even gutting them. Harvest Count: Peaches:53 quarts Pears:11 Quarts Stewed tomato: 16 Quarts Salsa:14 pints Spaghetti sauce:38 Quarts Green beans:73 Pints Grape Juice: 19 Quarts Hot Dill pickles: 19 Quarts Freezer corn: 30 quart bags I grew green beans, corn, and cucumbers. We had a lot of tomatoes but deer like tomatoes I found out. Nanny juiced the grapes as long as I picked them. Everything turned out great and we didn't do half bad!!!
