My grandparents are the sweetest grandparents. They are a little senile yes but they love there grand and great grandkids. My brothers girls have been staying with them for the last 2 weeks while my sister-in-law finished school. Shayd went over a couple of times and played during the day and would come home soo tired and dirty!!! My nanny would call and tell me how much fun they were having, and when he got home I could tell. Thursday we all went over to play. I think I was there 5 minutes and Shayd had found a mud puddle and was sitting in it!!
Chandler my 5 year old niece had found baby kittens in the attic the day they were born and has not left them alone since. Papa said telling them there mommy kitten wanted her babies only worked a handful of times. The kittens are now about 10 days old eyes are finally open and are survivors. Shayd and Joely are not very soft with them, but they love them.
I have deciede that I do better when I just send Shayd over and don't see the things he does. Like trying to climb a ladder to the attic to get a kitty. For lunch they had cookies, ice cream and some mac and cheese, but who wants mac and cheese when you get cookies and ice cream. I spent 99% of my childhood there and I turned out okay. My nieces went home yesterday and I hope that my grandparents slept in today, they looked like they needed the rest!!!

I love Auntie Ruth:) I totally know what you mean when you think you do better if you don't know what he is doing. I feel the same way when my kids go to my moms. They are well cared for but they get to do things mom would never let them do.
